What Is IPL?

If you are bothered by how your complexion appears because of sun damage or dark spots, Crystal Aesthetics & Rejuvenation Spa can perform a skin examination at our Oklahoma City, OK office to see if you qualify for IPL (intense pulsed light) therapy. A photofacial with IPL is a rejuvenating skin treatment performed with InMode's Lumecca device for adults with hyperpigmentation problems on their neck and face. A photofacial may not be an invasive process; however, it can be highly effective and produce amazing results. Schedule a consult with a member of our team for an IPL treatment today.

Am I a Good Candidate for IPL?

IPL reaches deep within the layers of your skin to improve many complexion problems (particularly sun spots and brown lesions) with little or no downtime. The best candidates for an IPL photofacial at Crystal Aesthetics & Rejuvenation Spa may have a combination of problems with their skin, such as rosacea, sun damage, hyperpigmentation (brown spots), rough texture, visible pores, redness, melasma, sun and age spots, or dilated capillaries. Our skin care team will examine your skin to see if you are a candidate for a photofacial at your private consultation.

How Does IPL Work?

IPL is done inside our Oklahoma City, OK office in around 20 – 30 minutes in our minor procedures room if no other treatments are performed. To start the procedure, we will wash and dry your skin before covering your eyes with goggles. The IPL photofacial is administered using Lumecca's handheld wand that will pass over the skin while emitting intense wavelengths of light that heat the skin cells to start the natural healing process and increase collagen production. While many patients will feel some discomfort throughout the IPL photofacial, it's generally bearable for the quick treatment time. Over time, you should begin to see a healthier layer with a more even tone and decreased spots of pigmentation.

Such an amazing place! All the ladies here are kind, helpful and so knowledgeable! Heather has been a trusted source for years and I just had laser hair with Rachel and she was awesome! I highly recommend!

About Us
How much does IPL cost?

Every patient case is unique, which means the cost of IPL will vary based on your unique concerns. Crystal Aesthetics & Rejuvenation Spa offers specials on treatments like IPL often and accepts many forms of payment. During your initial consultation, your technician can help estimate your cost and recommend how many sessions are needed for optimal results.

How quick are the results from IPL?

Some results can usually be seen after one treatment, but optimal results can be seen around one month after completing a full series of treatments. It is common for patients to respond differently to every treatment session. You will notice fading of blotchiness, redness, age spots, and sun spots over time.

What are the possible side effects of IPL?

It's common to have mild, temporary side effects, like redness, swelling, blisters, crusting, or bruising. These fade within a day or two after the procedure. Your skin will be sun sensitive, and you should keep in mind that excessive damaging UV rays will impact the results of the procedure. We also recommend sunscreen to protect your skin and prevent issues like spots and redness.
